La Scarzuola

Franciscan Monastery founded by St. Francis d 'Assisi in 1218, who planted a thicketof laurel and roses, and doth arise a source of' water, takes its name from a marsh plant, LA Scarz, the Saint used to build a hut. L 'apse of the church houses a' fresco inthe first half of the 13th century, depicting San Francisco in levitation.
