Fabro is situated on a hill overlooking the highway A1 Rome - Florence. The village is characterized by an ancient castle which is cited in the diplomatic code of the City of Orvieto of 1259 under the name of Castrum Fabri.
The castle is in fact the representative element of the country although it has undergone over the centuries, numerous deep architectural laterites.
In the historical center is the parish church dedicated to St. Martin of Tours, whose pediment is decorated with a precious wooden bas-relief depicting the Holy One, carved in 1930 in Val Gardena.
The country has developed mainly in two areas of settlement in the valley: the Colonnetta, near the motorway, and Fabro Scalo near the Railway Station.
Is also part of the territory of Fabro the village of Carnaiola, situated on a hill opposite to Fabro. Very important is the Carnaiola Castle, of medieval origin, which was further fortified in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuriesit belonged to noble families Filippeschi and Marsciano. Today the castle is owned by the family Dal Savio. The halls of the castle are granted for the organization of cultural events and exhibitions.
